Biography:
Dr. Alessandro Reggiani has graduated in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology at the University of Bologna in 2018, with a thesis on the modified genomic clones of Parvovirus B19 (B19V). Then, he earned his PhD in Biotechnological Science continuing to study the genome of this pathogen by a genome editing approach. In 2021, he spent 6 months as a visiting PhD student at the University of Namur (BE), where he focused on the interactions between B19V genome and APOBEC3B.
Since 2022, he is Health Researcher at the Modena Unit of the Experimental Zooprophylactic Institute of Lombardy and Emilia-Romagna, where his work in microbiology is presently focused on Coronaviridae, S. agalactiae and the detection of food-borne pathogens. In 2023 he enrolled in the School of Specialization in Microbiology and Virology, to explore the diagnostic and clinical aspects of microbiology in the Clinical Microbiology Lab of the Policlinico di Modena Hospital.
