After completing a Master’s degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, I started my professional career monitoring the West Nile and Usutu viruses. I then collaborated with the Emilia-Romagna Region on various related activities, contributing to the formulation of the National Plan for the Prevention, Surveillance and Response to Arboviroses (PNA) 2020–2025 at the Istituto Superiore di Sanità (ISS). I have also maintained a continuous professional relationship with the Molecular Biology Laboratory at IZSLER, primarily focusing on developing and implementing diagnostic methodologies in the fields of animal health and food safety.

I am currently employed at the Regional Reference Centre for Avian Influenza (IZSLER, Forlì), where my routine and research activities focus on detecting and studying various aspects of avian influenza and Newcastle disease viruses, as well as the main pathogens responsible for foodborne infections.
In addition to these responsibilities, I am involved in developing and validating molecular testing methods, preparing scientific papers, and supervising undergraduate and graduate students.

I am currently in the final year of the Postgraduate School of Specialisation in Microbiology and Virology. This programme has given me the chance to expand my knowledge of the clinical and diagnostic aspects of human health at the Microbiology Laboratory of the Policlinico Hospital in Modena.
