Alessandra Odorici

Graduated in Dentistry in 2006 at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

Since then, she has worked as a freelance professional in conservative dentistry, endodontics, paediatric dentistry.

In 2011 she obtained a second level Master in “Diagnosis and Therapy of Odontostomatologic  and Maxillo-Facial Pathologies” at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. From 2012 till 2013 she accomplished a second level Master in “Endodontics and Oral Surgery” at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

From 2013 till 2019 she worked as a professor of “Techniques of Home Oral Hygiene” for the degree course in dental hygiene in at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. Since 2018 she is working as a professor also for the degree course in dentistry and dental prosthesis in “Introduction to cariology and parodontology” at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

From 2015 till 2018 she was responsible of the research project “Prevention and cure of oral diseases in oncological patients: psychological support for the patient facing dental care” at CHIMOMO at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia. In 2019 she was responsible of another research project: “Development and setting up of novel materials in child dentistry” at CHIMOMO at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia.

Since September 2018 she is responsible of the paediatric dentistry clinic at Modena University Hospital.

In November 2019, she started her PhD, with a scholarship, in Clinical and Experimental Medicine at the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, supervised by professor Elisabetta Blasi. She is currently attending the first year of the 3-years PhD programme. Her expertise and scientific interests are mainly concerned on clinical aspects of dentistry. Given the important role of the resident oral microbiome, which is at the base of well-being of the oral cavity, with this Ph.D. she aims at improving the knowledge of the etiological and microbiological factors underlying some pathologies of the oral cavity, in combination with her clinical professional experience.
